Charles Wilson

A number of our members enjoyed the demonstration by Charles Wilson and some even had lessons. A great time was had by all as Charles demonstrated his methods both mounted and unmounted.

Equine Touch

Chris Wylie an Equine Touch instuctor visited to give a demonstration of the method on both horses and humans. It was great to see the reactions of the horses to this gentle yet effective treatment. To see photos of the demo visit here

High Plains X-Country and Pleasure Ride

10 horses and riders enjoyed a very windy but exiting day at High Plains Equestrian Centre near Riding Mill in Northumberland. Everyone went round the ride with optional jumps and spent an hour or two in the X-country schooling field. Photographs are available to buy from Thomas Hargreaves Equine Photography who braved the winds to record the day!

Charity Dressage Competition, 31 May   No fewer than 61 people took part in our first-ever charity competition on a warm sunny day at Low Fold Farm EC. 77 tests were ridden in total, and we raised £737.46 for the Chemotherapy Unit of the University Hospital of Durham. Entries ranged from excited riding school pupils in their first competition to more serious competitors from as far afield as Richmond. We had six mother-and-daugher (or son) combinations, and riding school pupils competing agains their instructor. Feedback has been fantastic, with everyone wanting to do the same again soon! Thanks again to Katie and Nev at Low Fold, who provided their facilities and horses free of charge, and worked tirelessly to make the whole event possible.
